This soccer drill is very important because it exploits a soccer player’s dribbling weakness. Some players only focus on dribbling with their dominant foot, but this drill will force the player to become comfortable with their foot that they don’t use. Use all parts of your foot so that you can be prepared no matter what.
Supplies:
- Multiple cones
- Each player needs a ball
Set up:
- Position the cones so they are in a straight line.
- Make sure there is an even distance between each cone.
- The players will stand behind one side of the cones.
Instructions:
- When it’s your turn, dribble through all of the cones.
- Turn at the end and come back.
- Go through the cones about 5 or 6 times, alternating between different feet.
Tips:
- Keep your head up to get used to looking around during the game.
- Use all parts of your foot and even your non-dominant foot to improve all different touches.
- For more advanced players, add a skill, this could be a rollover, stepover, or even scissors.
