Brazilians are one of the best ways to improve any part of your game. They can work on stability, first touch, and ball control. When doing a brazilian, make sure you are detailed in your movements. Make sure that you keep the best control of the ball as possible. Also, don’t forget, if the drill becomes too easy with a soccer ball, feel free to change the ball to a mini skills ball, or even a tennis ball.
Supplies:
- 4 cones
- 1 ball
- 2 players
Set up:
- Set up the cones in a straight line, at an equal distance from each other, about 2-3 feet.
- One player will stand in the middle of the cones, while the other stands outside of the cones, about 6 feet, facing them
Instructions:
- Stand next to the cone and have your partner stand across from you. Your partner should have the soccer ball in their hand.
- To begin, hop over the cones or hurdles, then your partner should toss you the ball and you should kick it back to them in a volley. Use a different part of your foot each turn.
- For the first set of ten, use the inside of your foot.
- For the second set, use your laces.
- For the third set, control the ball with your thigh and pass the ball back with your laces.
- For the fourth set, use your chest to control the ball and then pass the ball back with your laces.
- For the last set, head the ball back to your partner.
- When you pass the ball back on the one side of the cones, jump back to the other side and use your other foot to pass it back. Do each variation 10 times (5 on each side of the cones).
Tips:
- Focus on getting a good touch on the ball
- You can use a soccer ball to start, then increase difficulty by using a mini soccer ball
- If you still need a challenge, use a tennis ball
